Ah yes Friday, we’ve completed one more week’s worth of writing prompts and are looking forward to another week’s worth of writing. I really love these prompts. Sometimes the writing brings me story, setting or character ideas. Other times it just allows me to clear and calm my mind so I am in a writing frame of mind no matter what was going on in my head before I sat down. I even like the regimented tick of the egg timer I use to make sure I stay seated with my words going from brain to page for the allotted fifteen minutes.
While it would help me out even if only utter drivel came out of the prompt, sometimes I actually get something fun to work with. I kind of love the fact that I never know which will actually occur when I start the timer.
And so we start to look at next week’s prompts. Are you ready?
Monday, December 6th: Ice coated everything.
Tuesday, December 7th: The security system failed.
Wednesday, December 8th: They say it is where the fairies dance every midsummer.
Thursday, December 9th: The mirror caught the sun and for a moment glowed as though made of molten gold.
Friday, December 10th: The dress fit perfectly.
Don’t those look like interesting places to start a story? I suppose we’ll all find out if they live up to their potential next week. For now though I am going to forget they are there so I can come to them fresh next week. I hope your Friday flows smoothly and sends you out into whatever sort of weekend you prefer. I’m personally hoping for a quiet one. Regardless, I will see you back here bright and early come Monday morning.
