Upcoming Prompts for the Week of June 5th-9th, 2023

June has officially arrived. It is here in full force. That brief respite of good cool weather has gone and we are back up to sultry and sweaty. It is only gearing up though. We might get to keep the mid 80s til the middle of June if we are lucky, but I expect this July is going to be sweltering. It just has that feel already. One of those summers that smacks you between the eyes at the end of June and then just tries to see how high the thermometer will go. or maybe i have been listening too too much doom from the neighbor. From his talk it sounds like the asphalt is going to melt into a thick black tar river and we are all gong to need canoes to get around town.

which might be interesting to see, but not live through. I do enjoy listening to the way he puts sentences together though. But instead of wondering about tar rivers, let’s see what prompts we will be shaking out and using next week. Maybe one of them will inspire different visions of the summer…

Monday, June 5th: He just knew this time it would happen.

Tuesday, June 6th: Everything he had ever relied on was gone.

Wednesday, June 7th: The wind swept down from the mountains.

Thursday, June 8th: The hole looked deep.

Friday, June 9th: He dropped it.

I don’t know about the summer, but those look like they could be fun to play around with. of course i always think that so it isn’t surprising. Still there they are just waiting for Monday to arrive. I’ll see you back here then and we’ll see what story the first one shapes up to be. Have a good Friday.
