And so another week has passed. June seems to be flying by. But then again thirty day months usually do. June usually doesn’t for me though. I think it is because my birthday is at the end of June. As a kid it always seemed to take forever to get to my birthday so I am always used to thinking of June as a slow month. Plus school let out at the beginning of June so we went from the everyday school year to the madness of exams to the release of summer which slowed down everything considerably. Instead of a full day there would be slow ambling with nothing that really had to get done for a few weeks as I waited for my birthday.
It’s different as an adult of course. No one spends a week testing what you learned that year and then releases you to do whatever for the summer. Although that would be nice. To just have one nice, amble-ly sort of summer as an adult. Of course I think they call that retirement. And that is still a ways off. Still it would be nice for a bit.
But for now, we just have next week’s writing prompts.
Monday, June 19th: The bark was stripped from the tree.
Tuesday, June 20th: That was the day he died.
Wednesday, June 21st: I feel free.
Thursday, June 22nd: It dripped slowly down the wall.
Friday, June 23rd: The glass crunched underneath his feet.
An interesting mix I think. while not a summer’s break it will take my brain to different places. Hopefully you will join me, even if we all get off on different stops. Have a great Friday and I’ll see you back here on Monday.
