And so the story continues fifteen minutes at a time…
Day 13: ‘Plus if I have to run, I can hit each of my locations and be almost as well stocked as if I took everything from home.’
‘Plus, if I have to run, I can hit each of my locations and be almost as well stocked as if I took everything from home.’ Somedays Anna thought it was overkill, other days just good sense. She wasn’t sure what she thought today other than it would be useful.
Eventually she found her way into the small apartment. It was tiny and while it did hld a cot should she need to sleep there it was usually for more practical purposes. Anna locked the door and engaged the separate mage locks. While she was almost a hundred percent sure that no physical eyes watched her travels, at least not all the way from the coffee shop to this space, there were other ways of watching and only one way to be sure.
Anna dropped her bag on the floor and set her umbrella by the door. While the rain stripped during her travels, it increased as she started to come to the end. Now it seemed as though the storm from earlier returned.
Anna kicked off her shoes and began peeling off each and every layer of clothing she had on. She put each garment in a large plastic bin she purchased for exactly this and then stepped away. The small apartment featured a miniscule shower and Anna stepped inside. Inside were products laced with antitracking spells and locater removers. Anything that might have wiggled through her clothes down to her skin or have been placed in her hair would be disintegrated and washed down the drain.
Once scrubbed clean, she put on the extra set of clothes she kept here. When she was fully clothed, right down to her spare shoes, Anna moved to the main room. She tied her wet hair into a loose bundle at the back of her head and pulled out what looked like a medium sized square bucket. It was in reality a portable washing machine. She purchased it as something to try out and decided it worked well enough to get any kind of trackers off of her clothes. Once the garments were inside, she took the portable washing machine back to the shower and placed it inside. She used the showerhead to add water and poured a capful of the anti-tracker laced laundry detergent into the small machine.
With the water inside she ran the cord to the outlet and plugged it in. She then turned the machine on and let the clothes swish around as they began their wash.
She left the small machine to do it’s job and returned to the main room. She took everything out of her bag and set it to the side. The leather of the satchel would not do well in the machine so she sprayed it down and let it sit. She did the same to her shoes. While they could easily go into a standard laundry machine, they were too much for her small portable unit. “I’ll take them to the laundry on Saturday,” she promised herself.
With all of her outer gear taken care of, Anna picked up the notebook she had Christopher put his phone number in. She left the pencil inside as she moved to her small kitchenette. Here disguised as spices were quite a few ingredients she needed. She put water and a selection of herbs into a large pot and put it onto the stove. She had used this spell so many times her hand moved without thought.
