Morning everyone I am thrilled to announce my latest book, Born of Sugar and Spice is now available. I had so much fun writing this one. The story shifts between our world and a world of fairytale magic. I got to play with so many fun concepts in this one, and set up a bunch more for upcoming story segments. In the world of the Fairytales, The Chadon, those with magic are restricted to traditional roles. They are tested when they come of age and placed in a tradition, So you end up with a witch placed in the Gingerbread House tradition who has no interest in kidnapping and eating children. In fact she seems to dream of opening a spa. Some of the kingdoms have loosened restrictions resulting in magic being used for new and innovative things, while some refuse to change And of course there is a gateway into our world.
You can find the e-book on both Amazon and Smashwords (with paperback and Hardback to follow soon on Amazon)

Most of this first book takes place in our world as we are introduced to The Chadon. However as I was writing it, I came up with two novellas that went along with the world. Then I started on the second book and came up with another couple of novellas to go along with it. So what I am going to do is have this first book, Born of Sugar and Spice released now and the novellas released in the months following, then release the second book followed by it’s novellas.
I am kind of excited by the prospect actually. Right now the e-book is out. Soon it will be followed by a paperback and then a hardback volume. It has been a really long time since I have done a hardback release. But I couldn’t resist.
I really hope you enjoy reading! Below I’ve posted both the Series Description and the Description for this first book, Born of Sugar and Spice.
Series Description
In the Lands of the Chadon magic is regulated and can only be used in the traditional roles. Those with magic are tested and placed in a rigidly restricted tradition. They become the sorcerer who tests would-be heroes or the old witch in the Gingerbread House in the woods despite their preferences and skills. In some of the kingdoms of the Chadon restrictions are being lifted, old roles reevaluated and for the first time those with magic are allowed to find new uses and new ways to benefit their kingdoms.
Things are changing. Some Kingdoms get rich and other kingdoms struggle amidst rising rebellion.
Those who despise the changes formulate a plan. Kidnap a princess from the kingdom leading the changes and blackmail them into returning to the old ways. Unfortunately, along the way the princess is lost through the Eastern Gate, a gate that leads to our world. Now amid rising social change, increased wealth and outright rebellion it is a race to reclaim the lost princess.
Born of Sugar and Spice: Book One of The Lost Princess
Alana Gregson had her life figured out. After working in kitchens around the world she returned home to Lewiston to open the Sugar and Spice Bakery. After five years the bakery has a steady following, a loyal staff and Alana is happy. Down the street her sister Marta owns the Glass Slipper Bridal Shop and her other sister Angela owns the Rose and Thorn Florists. Alana could be content working in her bakery for the rest of her life, however unexplained break-ins and attempted kidnappings soon lead her to realize Lewiston is not the bucolic small town it seemed and its secrets are starting to come to light.
In the lands of the Chadon where fairytale magic is controlled and regulated some kingdoms have broken with tradition and allowed those with magic more freedom to create. There are those who have profited from the change and those who desperately want the return of the old order. A plan to kidnap a princess from one of the lenient kingdoms to blackmail them into returning to the old ways goes awry and the princess is lost somewhere through the Eastern Gate, in our world. She has grown up without magic or royal power and now, with rebellion brewing, the search is on to find the lost princess and bring her home.
