Another week down. I got several good storylines and characters out of this week’s prompts. I know that isn’t the point. The point is to get the brain used to writing everyday regardless of how I feel when I sit down and to do a sort of mental exercise program, but it is nice nonetheless.
I think the greatest achievement this week though is figuring out a way to get Sophie out of the office and on vacation. In expect once this year is out this story will require a lot off editing. No matter how I tried to get the story to slide back into my original outline, it just wouldn’t. I have part of new outline for the fifteen minute novel, but I suspect a lot of it will be flying by the seat of my pants as I try to at least try to get her onto a path heading somewhere before the end of the year. Fun stuff. For now though let’s look at the prompts for next week.
Monday, September 23rd: The drop sent his stomach rocketing into his throat.
Tuesday, September 24th: The film was grainy.
Wednesday, September 25th: The cut bled sluggishly.
Thursday, September 26th: The tree fell across the road.
Friday, September 27th: I carefully picked up the cut crystal perfume bottle.
That’s a pretty interesting mix. Hopefully there will be some fun stuff coming out of them, story line and character wise at least. But for now, we must let them lie. Enjoy the rest of Friday and have a great weekend!
