Wednesday, March 5th: Write in

Welcome to the Wednesday write in. I love changing the theme of these each month. For March we are concentrating on Weather. I know that is an odd one. And some of you may have the words it was a dark and stormy night floating through your brains. But the thing is Weather can change the perception of a scene dramatically. There are of course things that have been over done, but for the purpose of this exercise we are going to look at one place. I will be posting a picture below. You can use this place or come up with something else. The trick is we will be working with this description all week, showing how it changes, based on weather.

So first, the picture…

It is, a cabin in the woods. Suitable for all manner of stories. So if you feel the need to pick a genre go with whatever feels comfortable. The goal is the same for every Wednesday this week.

Describe the scene and then alter it based on the Weather/situational cues. As we are starting the month today’s Weather is Bright sun. I chose an image with a sunny day so it would be an easy start. Today you are just describing the scene. You can make the sun brighter if you want, but it isn’t necessary. The goal is to describe the scene and to let your mind focus on how the weather might affect the perception of this place. So off you go and Describe this cabin in a sunlit field. Happy Writing.
