Monday, April 21st: The Five Word Challenge

Morning all I hope you had a fabulous weekend. Ready to stretch those vocab muscles? Excewllent, as it is Monday we have the five word challenge ahead of us. In this exercise we have five words that have to be included in whatever we writer. It can be prose or poetry, the what doesn’t matter. The key is to use the words list. As always the definitions are posted below. I find it helps to sometimes look at the alternate usages of words or the official definition since it shakes my brain up and makes me thing of things in a different light.

Today’s Words: Fiber, Netted, Contrite, Peach, Necktie

Fiber: noun 1.a thread or filament from which a vegetable tissue, mineral substance, or textile is formed.2. dietary material containing substances such as celluloselignin, and pectin, that are resistant to the action of digestive enzymes.

Netted: verb past tense: netted; past participle: netted 1.catch or land (a fish or other animal) with a net.2. (in sports) hit or kick (a ball or puck) into the net; score (a goal).

Contrite: adjective feeling or expressing remorse or penitence; affected by guilt.

Peach: noun the Chinese tree that bears peaches. a round stone fruit with juicy yellow flesh and downy pinkish-yellow skin.

Necktie: noun dated•North American another term for tie (sense 4 of the noun).
