Good morning and welcome to the morning writing exercise. (not that the morning prompt isn’t a writing exercise, but generally I view that as a way to get my brains jumpstarted more than a way to focus on an element of writing). As it is Friday, we have a scenario. As always it is left bare bones, more suggestion of plot elements that you can take in any direction you want. For some of you looking to write and not knowing where to begin, it can get an idea started. For those of you who need a break from what you are working on so that a tangled plot element can sit and marinate for a bit, hopefully it will provide an intermission from your regularly scheduled writing.
Today’s Scenario: A secret held for years and deemed useless/relic of the past/pointless to hide suddenly becomes important.
Perhaps it is ancient gossip. Perhaps it is a story thought to be a fairytale that someone knows to be true. Maybe it is a secret about someone who has died or details of an affair where the couple has already divorced. How you take it and where your story goes is your own design. Have fun with it and as always, happy writing.
