Not all events are fun, but they can be great ways to let everyone know a bit more about your world or your character. Today’s event…its not a fun one, but i can show a lot.
Today’s Event: A hospital visit
One hopes it isn’t an oft repeated occurrence, but it can show you everything from the type of medical care available to how people behave when they don’ feel well. You can choose to write this from a patient’s standpoint or a visitors. It can be a detective visiting a victim, parent visiting a child or an assassin dressed as a nurse trying to take someone out who happened to fall off a ladder the day before. No matter who is visiting this hospital, make it an atypical place for them (so no doctors or nurses unless they normally don’t work in a hospital). You want to use this as an exception to someone’s norm. Think about the ways in which you can use a hospital visit to reveal something that may not be seen elsewhere or to tell a different side to a story.
