Monday, May 12th: The Five Word Challenge

Morning all. Still early, still wishing I hit the snooze alarm, but this should be the last week of this. So the end is in sight. So today we have the five word challenge. Listed below are five words. You must use them all in a piece of writing. I have listed the definitions below in the event they spark an idea for using the words in a way that you are not used to seeing them used. Happy Writing.

Today’s Words: Musty, Warped, Target, Slink, Birch

Musty: adjective having a stale, moldy, or damp smell.

Warped: adjective bent or twisted out of shape, typically as a result of the effects of heat or damp.

Target: noun 1.a person, object, or place selected as the aim of an attack. historical a small round shield or buckler.

Slink: verb move smoothly and quietly with gliding steps, in a stealthy or sensuous manner. noun a slinking movement or walk.

Birch: noun 1.a slender, fast-growing tree that has thin bark (often peeling) and bears catkins. Birch trees grow chiefly in north temperate regions, some reaching the northern limit of tree growth. 2. historical a formal punishment in which a person is flogged with a bundle of birch twigs. verb historical beat (someone) with a bundle of birch twigs as a formal punishment.
