Monday, May 19th: The Five Word Challenge

Morning all, jury duty done and a normal schedule has resumed. More or less. I now feel very much behind on well, everything, but that can’t actually be helped. So we will set the feeling aside and jump into the morning writing exercise. It is Monday and so we have the five word challenge. As always the goal is to use all five words in a piece of writing, it doesn’t matter what type. Just use all the words. It is meant to stretch the vocab and maybe get you to think about the words you are using in different ways. While I will be posting the definitions below to spark ideas, feel free to use the words however your brain can twist them. And with that…

Today’s words: Rude, Glisten, Magnanimous, Pop, Reliquary

Rude: adjective 1.offensively impolite or ill-mannered. 2. having a startling abruptness.

Glisten: verb (of something wet or greasy) shine; glitter. noun a sparkling light reflected from something wet.

Magnanimous: adjective generous or forgiving, especially toward a rival or less powerful person.

Pop: verb 1.make a light explosive sound. 2. go somewhere for a short time, often without notice.noun 1.a light explosive sound.informalcarbonated soft drink.adverb with a light explosive sound.

As always, happy writing.
