Today’s event is a simple one, ort of…
Retirement
For some it is a goal, for others it comes too soon. Others even have it foisted upon them. Perhaps you will write the last day of work. Perhaps the party that follows the last day of work. Perhaps it is the first day after they have left work. Keep it close to the end of the career rather than going off on endless days of whatever your character does in retirement. Focus on the ending. Is it a relief, bittersweet, utterly terrifying as they have been working at one job or another since the age of twelve? Focus on the ending and the unknown. It can show a side of your character or be something that shows a side of the office not usually seen. As always figure out how best to use this event to accomplish some goal in your story. Perhaps the retirement opens up a coveted parking space that there with be a paper cut duel at dawn for. Maybe the retiree no longer feels the need to keep a corporate secret. Use it however you wish. And as always, happy writing.
