Monday, June 16th: The Five Word Challenge

Happy Monday everyone. It is time once again for the five word challenge. Listed below are five words. The goal of this exercise is to use all five words in a piece of writing. Whatever writing you want. Use the words however you please, just use them. I will list the words below and as always the definitions will be below.

Today’s Words: Shimmering, Straw, Contender, Sophisticate, First

Shimmering: adjective shining with a soft, slightly wavering light.

Straw: noun 1.dried stalks of grain, used especially as fodder or as material for thatching, packing, or weaving. 2. a thin hollow tube of paper or plastic for sucking drink from a glass or bottle.

Contender: noun a person or group competing with others to achieve something.

Sophisticate: verb make (someone or something) more sophisticated. adjective archaic sophisticated. noun a person with much worldly experience and knowledge of fashion and culture.

First: number 1.coming before all others in time or order; earliest; 1st. 2. foremost in position, rank, or importance.
