Morning everyone ready for today’s writing exercise? Well pop on your sweat pants and get ready to feel the mental burn as we work out our vocabulary muscles. It is time for the five word challenge. To break the rut of using the same words in the same ways, with this exercise we take five words below and use them in one piece of writing. Any writing you like, poetry, prose, something outré. Your call. Just use them all. While most of the words are, I’m certain, familiar to you, I’ve pasted the definitions below. Sometimes seeing the word actually defined can bring a spark of thought. Of course you are welcome to go with your own meaning Clockwork Orange style if you want. All up to you, just use all five words. As always, happy writing.

Calling: noun 1.the loud cries or shouts of an animal or person. 2. a strong urge toward a particular way of life or career; a vocation.
Allowance: noun
the amount of something that is permitted, especially within a set of regulations or for a specified purpose. verb archaic give (someone) a sum of money regularly as an allowance.
Vinegar: noun sourness or peevishness of behavior, character, or speech. a sour-tasting liquid containing acetic acid, obtained by fermenting dilute alcoholic liquids, typically wine, cider, or beer, and used as a condiment or for pickling.
Glossy: adjective 1.shiny and smooth. 2. superficially attractive and stylish, and suggesting wealth or expense. noun informal a magazine printed on glossy paper, containing many color photographs and typically devoted to fashion, beauty, celebrities, etc.
Threat: noun 1.a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done. 2. a person or thing likely to cause damage or danger.
