Another week in the books and we are no knee deep in summer. The eggplant is flowering, the figs are swelling and the corn is doing whatever it is corn does. This is my first time planting corn in the garden. I have a planting area that I haven’t found just the right plant to put there so each year I try something different. This year, it’s corn. It is doing really well. At least there are stalks and glossy leaves. I also realized I know nothing about corn so watching it is a fascinating plant life cycle lesson.
Before we get to the prompts for next week I just want to put in a little reminder about the Smashwords Summer Sale. It runs through the whole month of July. My books are 50% off but if my books are not your thing there are thousands of independent authors participating. It is a great time to find new authors and take a chance on some things you might not otherwise pick up.
And now, on to the prompts…
Monday, July 14th: There was ash in the grate.
Tuesday, July 15th: The coffee was fresh.
Wednesday, July 16th: The phone rang.
Thursday, July 17th: The cool of the shadows felt delightful.
Friday, July 18th: Mary scowled.
Interesting. The shorter sentences are always interesting to see when they are written out. Much broader directional opportunities. And next week we will see where they lead. Until then, Have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend beyond.
