Today I have a seasonally appropriate event for everyone. Let’s jump into it.
Event: the first day of summer camp
Oh the possibilities. Is this an adult dropping their child off for the first long separation they have ever had? Is your main character a seasoned camp councilor or is this their first job? Is this a camper’s first time away from home or a long standing tradition? Is it a specialty camp designed for one specific group (such as people playing a specific sport or even a weight loss themed summer camp). There are so many things to play with, homesickness, relief, enjoyment or even hatred if they didn’t want to be there. Your camper could be a hay fever riddled germaphobe now stuck in the great out doors or they can be someone a little too eager for the archery range for the comfort of other campers. From parents to staff to kids, there are many angles to take this event and so many emotions to play with. Have fun with it and as always, Happy writing.
