Monday, July 28th: The Five Word Challenge

Good morning everyone time to stretch those vocab muscles and look at words in ways we might not ordinarily use them, or even use words we normally pass right by. As usual the only rule is you have to use all five of the words in a piece of writing in some capacity. You can do poetry or prose. You can use the definitions listed below or make up your own definitions and turn them into a new type of slang ala Clockwork Orange. Your call.

Today’s Word: Blast, Juniper, knotty, malformed, embolden

Blast: noun 1.a destructive wave of highly compressed air spreading outward from an explosion.2. a strong gust of wind or air. verb 1.blow up or break apart (something solid) with explosives.2. be very loud; make a loud noise.exclamation informal•British expressing annoyance.

Juniper: noun an evergreen shrub or small tree that bears berrylike cones, widely distributed throughout Eurasia and North America. Many kinds have aromatic cones or foliage.

knotty: adjective full of knots. or (of a problem or matter) extremely difficult or intricate.

malformed: adjective (of a person or part of the body) abnormally formed; misshapen. not conforming to a standard type.

embolden: verb 1.give (someone) the courage or confidence to do something or to behave in a certain way.2. cause (a piece of text) to appear in a bold typeface.
