Good Monday morning everyone. it is time to get that vocab stretched and into shape with the five word challenge. Don’t forget no matter what you write, you have to include all five of the below words. What you write is up to you, but that is the only rule. So let’s take a look at what we are working with today.
Today’s Words: Ringing, Smear, Eloquent, Waste, Linguistic
Ringing: adjective having or emitting a clear resonant sound. (of a statement) forceful and unequivocal.
Smear: verb 1.coat or mark (something) messily or carelessly with a greasy or sticky substance. 2. damage the reputation of (someone) by false accusations; slander. noun 1.a mark or streak of a greasy or sticky substance. 2. a sample of material spread thinly on a microscope slide for examination, typically for medical diagnosis.
Eloquent: adjective fluent or persuasive in speaking or writing. clearly expressing or indicating something.
Waste: verb 1.use or expend carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose. 2. (of a person or a part of the body) become progressively weaker and more emaciated.adjective 1.(of a material, substance, or byproduct) eliminated or discarded as no longer useful or required after the completion of a process. (of an area of land, typically in a city or town) not used, cultivated, or built on. noun 1.an act or instance of using or expending something carelessly, extravagantly, or to no purpose. 2. material that is not wanted; the unusable remains or byproducts of something.
Linguistic: adjective relating to language or linguistics.
