Good morning everyone, earlier I mentioned the Friday Chapters. Each Friday will have a new chapter added. It is for a new series that is not available elsewhere. It is called the Borderlands and we are starting with Book One: The Ties that Bind. It is fifty chapters long and while it will take most of the year to post, once the final chapter is done, we will roll right into Book Two.
Below I will give you the information about the book to help you decide if this is something you have any interest in reading. You can become a member by clicking on the link in the post when chapter 1 goes live on Friday or you can go to the Member’s Page on the banner at the top of the page or click on this link to the Member’s Page Here. It is $2 per month to read. (Friday, December 5th will be the first thing in the members section so if you click on it now, there aren’t any members posts, but as they become active the links to chapters will be clickable.)
The fee will get you not only the weekly chapters, but all of my task posts for the 2026 Novel Writing Challenge Tasks that start in January along with a few other surprises throughout the year. And now onto the book!

The Borderlands is a space between the world of Humans and the world of the Fae. It separates the two worlds and is populated by those who are a mix of those too human to live on the Fae side of the border and those too fae to live amongst the humans.
When it was created all humans capable of performing magic were sent to the Borderlands as well. Some say they were sent to safeguard ordinary humans against the fae and others because the ordinary humans distrusted those with magic as much as they did the Fae.
Once created, everyone outside the Borderlands pretended it didn’t exist.
Until most forgot it did.
Born in the Borderlands, Daniel Faraway was determined to leave it behind. He locked his magic away and crossed into the human side of the border. He traveled and eventually made a place for himself in the humans only side of the border. He worked his way up through the ranks of the police force eventually becoming a homicide detective. He thought he was done with the Borderlands and was content to let old memories and old pain fade, his past forgotten.
But when there are six murders in a row in Danny’s hometown of Barrowville, a homicide detective is exactly what the Borderlands needs. Called home, he soon finds there is more than murder on the menu. Someone is attacking the old families, including his Great Aunt Alice, and if he doesn’t stop them, all of the borders could come crashing down.
