Wednesday, December 31st: Description

Good morning everyone. We have made it to the final writing exercise of the year. It seems only fitting that we end in much the same way as we began. If you remember we started at the beginning of January with a description of a New Year’s Gala. I think it is fitting that we end with one. It is after all, a gathering.

Today’s Gathering: A New Year’s Eve Gala Celebration

If you wrote this scene/description at the beginning of the year, I want you to refrain from looking at it until after you write this one. Give us the most detailed description you can. Show the reader the details make them see, smell, touch and taste every element of your gathering. Add emotions and conversation. Really delve into those details. Then after you have written this New Year’s Eve Gala description, go back to look at the one you did at the beginning of the year.

Has anything changed? Did you envision a different gala from the start of the year? Or maybe your writing is different. I like ending the year on something comparable to the start of the year. Often I am able to see changes and progress in my writing as well as shifts in my mindset. So often we have our daily exercises and think well that was fun, but not really doing much. I find looking back I really do see there was a change. Perhaps you will to. But for now I will leave you to write. Have a happy and safe New Years Eve no matter where you are and who you are with.

Tomorrow we will be back to start a whole new year.

As always, happy writing.
