Morning everyone, another writing day and of course another writing exercise posted. Use it to work on your existing characters or to invent new ones. Or file it away for another time if you are already knee deep in your writing. but for now…
Task #44: Writing Exercise: Still working on character development so you know the drill, pick a character. It could be one you are working with or one made up solely for this exercise. Once you know the character…tell us about their worst nightmare. Tell us what haunts them at night. Is it something they have done in the past? Lost loves wailing for them to return? The fear of failure? If it is something like a fear of failure or a feeling of loss, or some other feeling, show us how this manifests in their subconscious. This is the time to dig deep and break out the mental monsters. So take a deep breath and plunge into the depths of your character and see what frightens them and haunts their nightmares. Do your worst. It turns out it is a surprisingly helpful way to figure them out.
Happy Writing!
