Morning all. Hopefully we are all chugging along on our separate writing schedules. Or if not yet writing finishing up our research and resolving plot dilemmas. Just remember, you can research until the cows come home but at some point, you just have to jump in and write. As for me, it is another writing day scheduled.
But of course we have another exercise ready. As we are sticking with character building through the end of March, it shouldn’t surprise you when you see where we start…
Task 47: Wri5ting Exercise – Pick or create a character. Think about how that character moves through the story. Now for today’s exercise, tell us about that character’s favorite color. Once you choose a color, tell us why it is that character’s favorite color. Delve deep. Old memories of happier times. A lost love’s favorite scarf, a dye made in the village where they were born. The color worn by their first victim when they passed their assassin’s test. Not all characters are good characters and remember sometimes even bad characters have a softer side. The exercise can tell you more about the character than you expect. The writing doesn’t have to make it into your actual draft, but it can be helpful for you.
Happy writing.
