Task #54 – Writing Exercise: Pick a character and fix their particulars in your mind. See them, think about the story they are in. Once you have that, write about their biggest regret and why. It could be about not taking a chance and missing out on something fun or (depending on your character) not killing someone when they had the chance. No one said your character had to be good, or happy, or well adjusted. Dig deep to find their deepest, darkest regret and then write about it. If nothing else, you will learn more about your character and what drives them. After all, they aren’t likely to repeat something that led to their deepest regret. Or maybe they are and it is a repeat behavior…
