The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge 2026: My Task #58

I was attacked by plot bunnies in the night. They are like dust bunnies except harder to take down with a vacuum. As a result I re wrote a section to accommodate the new/changed plot bits. I did technically add to my word count. It now officially has 12 words more than it did yesterday. While I know that I needed to alter things as once I got the idea I couldn’t not use it because it made the story so much better, but I will admit I really like seeing my word count grow. I like coloring in those little boxes. Still I have set myself up for a better second act. I am almost done with Act 1 in my storyline which is -to be fair- a good time to get all the ducks in a row. Soon I will be launching into the activity and obstacles that are included in the Act 2 so getting this together will help. So I shouldn’t sulk about it. I still feel a bit sulky, but then I always do when I have to rewrite something instead of moving forward. (even if it is moving forward it never feels like it) So no additional word count today, but I will hopefully be better with the next section.
