Morning all. I hope you are ready for another day of writing. I feel good about the minor adjustments I made to my story and am ready to write some more. No matter how well planned my outline there is always a time when I discover something I like just a little bit more than what I placed in the outline. I like that as it gets the first idea out and then as I write, my brain turns it over and I inevitably come up with something better than the first plan. It is another scheduled writing day for me but we still have a writing exercise as well. so…
Task #59: Writing exercise – Pick a character and fix their basic details in your mind. Who are they, what sort of role do they play. Are they the hero, the villain, the comic relief, the lost love, the inn keep who provides a necessary clue to a mystery? Once you have your character in mind. write about this characters best childhood friend. How did they become friends? Why were they friends? Are they still friends? Did they drift apart or have a falling out? Do they see each other every Tuesday night? Tell us about this friendship, how it came to be and why they value it. Or why they no longer value it. While some of this may be for your own edification, it could prove useful. After all a young hero could remind someone of a long lost friend and that could be the reason they help them out. Or refuse to help them out as the case may be.
As always, happy writing.
