Morning all. I did not have today scheduled as a writing day so I thought instead I would jump in with an updated outline instead. I really like starting with an outline before I sit down to write but I almost always veer off course. Oddly it is the things I learn about my story while making the outline that take me away from it. So it is always a useful exercise for me. At this point in the writing process I Do like to take a minute and write down a sentence or so for each chapter so I know that my ending makes sense. While this helps me in the writing phase, once we get to the editing phase, I will go back with both the original outline and chapter break out as well as this truncated one and use them both in the editing process. Sometimes there will be small details I really liked at the start that got lost along the way and I will add them back in. Other times I will realize I changed my idea from the first to the second outline and will need to remove things so that the meaning and story is clear. But for me Task 76 is the updated minimalist outline instead of writing.
