Morning all, May is all about dialogue so while we still write according to the schedules we set for ourselves, here is today’s writing exercise.
Task #86 – Writing Exercise – Two men walk into a bar. Don’t worry, there is no punchline to the joke. They both just want the same beer and find that the company has not stocked their favorite and instead sent a few new selections. You can take it from here. Perhaps they talk to the bartender about a tasting flight of the new selections and discuss them. Perhaps they commiserate with each other about all the things they once knew that are now disappearing. While it is possible that they would ignore each other in real life, in this scenario, you need to give them a reason to talk to each other, even if it is just mutual irritation. Shoe these two men and then get them talking to each other.
As always, happy writing.
