The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge: My Task #129

Still editing. My issue with chapter three is that I need to introduce some things. I want a light touch to kind of set up what comes later but I want it to be noticeable so the reactions play well. If that makes sense. Whenever I write something like this I am always convinced I used a sledge hammer and the hint is too blatant. Somehow it never is as blatant as I thought. Or at least it isn’t this time, so I am having to make a few things more obvious.
