And for the writing exercise, take the object below and describe it in as much detail as you can. Really go overboard in your descriptions. Even if you wouldn’t normally add that much detail in the actual story, just go crazy with it here. And then make this item mean something to your story. The sight of it can spark a thought not had before, it can link two people or display quilt like a blinking billboard. Whatever you choose, make it mean something in the context of your story.
