The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge: My Task #161

This was the most annoying day of editing for me. I turned on all of the computer’s checks and looked at all the words the computer underlined. While I am willing to admit that I added of in places where it could be omitted, I id not have a happy time with the computer. I had to break out my old dictionary to double check word meaning because it kept suggesting words that simply didn’t fit the context. Once I even dipped into a grammar site to triple check something. The auto checks are great. They do help me tighten my writing and make sure my spelling is on point but they are designed more for technical writing than creative writing. It was annoying, but I made it through. My draft is now fully edited and I can take the weekend off and rest easy before the next phase begins. And yes I did blow razzberries at my computer screen.
