Good morning for today’s task we need to look back through the earlier tasks this week. At the start of the week we thought about readers and who we might want to read through our manuscript for this first completed draft. Then we started thinking about what we needed from the readers as well as what our time line is. Looking at those, might change who we ask to be readers for this round. Did we put someone on the list who is a stickler for comma use when we might want to ask them to go through a later draft when we have made certain there are only minor changes in punctuation and spelling needed instead of having them look at a first edited draft?
Do you have some questions to ask that one person might be better at answering than another? For example if you wrote a mystery and want to make certain the police procedural aspects or medical bits are accurate then asking someone with knowledge of police procedure or medical related topics, might be better than the undisputed ruler of punctuation land. At least at this stage. so…
Task #165: Read through your list of potential readers and decide if they are the right readers for this first edited draft read through or if they might be better suited to a later draft. Decide if there is an expert who might have been left out that might really come in handy at this point.
