Good morning all and welcome to the first break out task of Act 2 of our National novel writing month planning. Act two includes our Rising action, our Midpoint and our Plot Point 2. Today we are going to stick with the obstacles, allies and enemies.
I always find this part interesting. Sometimes when I am writing this section I will add far more obstacles and challenges than are feasible for one story (especially one that I can write in 30 days). Sometimes I will short myself and not include enough. I tend to write this part out and then revisit this section a lot as I continue planning. so if you write out your list and think it isn’t right, remember it isn’t set in stone. You can cross things off or add things in as you go. Generally think of this is your first pass through the rising action. If you don’t see the issues before hand, when we set up our chapter break out they will appear then. Sometimes the order will switch up then as well so don’t stress that too terribly much right now either.
Task 173 (Nano #7): Write out a list of things to include in the Rising Action section of your storyline.
It can be a bullet points list or a paragraph – you are the only one who will need to use this so keep it usable for yourself.
