The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge: Task #188

Oh I have something fun to add to today’s notes. Since the tasks sound a little repetitive it is always fun to add a little bit extra as we work. While I have mentioned the Nanowrimo organization many times they are not the only ones doing something for the November National Novel Writing Month. In fact the official nonprofit that was running Nanowrimo shut down in March 2025. I put earlier links to their site in earlier posts because I didn’t realize this but then have now taken the website down so officially I guess it is no more, even though the challenge still stands. Reedsy has has something you may be interested in. I just received an email with the following information…

The Reedsy Novel Sprint 2026

It doesn’t matter if it’s your first book or the tenth in a series, the challenge is the same: write 50,000 words in 30 days in Reedsy Studio. Everyone who crosses the finishing line gets 3 free months of Studio’s premium features and a chance to enter their first chapter to win up to $5,000.

And you won’t be writing alone. Throughout November, you can:

  • Attend live workshops with writing professionals
  • Join writing sprints to rack up your word count
  • Connect with our dedicated Novel Sprint community to share progress and cheer each other on

You can join the Reedsy Novel Sprint by clicking on this link.

So for any of you interested, there is some information for you and the chance to write with others and potentially win a prize for doing so, which is a great extra incentive to keep going. For now, we have today’s tasks (I am still going to keep the Nano numbers so if you are looking just at the prep posts for November it is easier to find.)

Task #188: (Nano #22): Write one or two sentences detailing your Chapter 10. Don;t forget to follow it up with bullet points for items you want to include in the chapter.

As always, Happy writing.
