Good morning everyone. We are inching along in out outline and nearly finished with Act two of our three Acts. I always find this an interesting part. Generally I will write the transition from Act two to act three and realize once it is on paper that it is not as dramatic as it needs to be. There are almost always additions and changes to the last part of Act 2. The important part is to get something down so you have something to revise. It doesn’t matter if it sounds flat in the first draft. Think of it as first thoughts. While lack of enough drama is one of my problems at this point, this is also the point where I have realized that I have tried to make my story do too much. That there are excess plotlines that might need to be trimmed down or removed entirely, the sub plot becoming it’s own story elsewhere. Think of this outline, especially if you have wither of these issues as a first pass through the story. Once it is on paper (no matter how many gaps or issues it has) you will have something to edit and that is one of the most helpful things at this point. And so…
Task #197 (Nano # 31): Write a sentence or two about your Chapter 19. Be sure to add in bullet points of things you want to mention as you write the chapter later.
As always happy writing.
