The Upcoming Prompts for the Week of November 2nd – 6th, 2026

Good morning everyone one. I hope you had a fabulous week. I had dental surgery so it has been a but of an up and down week for me. I have been a little out of it truth be told but I am recovering. So bonus points. A little housekeeping for the upcoming week/month.

For those of you following along with or participating in the 2026 Novel Writing Challenge, you know we finished the manuscript we spent the better part of the year working on and then edited it and started sending it out to readers. Hopefully continuing your editing and reading process until your manuscript is at a stage where you consider it finished or at least finished enough to think about sending it to a professional (i.e. agents or publishers).

For the last stretch of time we have been writing an outline for the month of November. For the month of November we are going to try to write a 50K manuscript in 30 days. It generally requires about 1667 words to be written per day. While the outline is done, there is the November writing. So throughout November I will be posting my daily writings for the November write ins. These will go up in place of the tasks (as the 2026 Novel writing challenge is more or less complete as far as tasks go). Since the task each day in November is write 1667 words on your story, I will be combining the Task and My task posts into one and it will just be titled November 2026 Write Ins with the day (Day 1, Day 2, and so on) until we get to 30. November writing will go fast and there are bound to be many typos and potential issues in the writing. Editing starts in December. I will be posting each day in November, but please excuse the roughness in the writing.

This it the writers version of how the sausage gets made and if you don’t want to see, I suggest looking away.

Personally I haven’t done this sort of monthly writing sprint in a really long time and am kind of looking forward to it. If you are participating and posting on line, feel free to share your links in the comment section for others to see as well.

I think that is it for housekeeping so let’s look at those upcoming prompts…

Monday, November 2nd: It was an encouraging sign.

Tuesday, November 3rd: The oven timer dinged.

Wednesday, November 4th: Oh, you thought I was on your side.

Thursday, November 5th: Their relationship was strained.

Friday, November 6th: She rolled out the dough.

Looks like a good way to kick off November. I’ll see you with the first one of these on Monday and I will be posting the first of the November write ins on Sunday November first. See you there!
