Upcoming Prompts for the week of November 9th – 13th, 2026

Morning all. The first week of November is through and soon the Halloween sugar rush will fade and we will be in full on holiday prep. For me that means baking.

For my husband it will mean narrow eyed speculation about what the neighbors will add to their yard this year. And of course how it will go awry. Because it always goes awry. Last year they added one of those inflatable yard decorations where the motor inflates it during the night and then during the day it looks like someone left an empty trash bag on their lawn.

It would have been fine except that the décor they chose was a Santa Clause riding a T-Rex. Which was a new Christmas theme for me, but hey to each their own. However, only the front half of the T-rex inflated which gave the décor a much different aspect than anticipated. It provided much amusement for my husband as he got to watch another neighbor yelling at them for the inappropriate for children image the rather blue looking arrangement gave the décor. Luckily they got the T-rex fixed and tempers cooled. Santa got to ride the T-rex in an appropriate for the whole family way.

Just a reminder to check your decorations before deploying them, no matter what those decorations are.

And now that I have put that image into your minds, on with the upcoming prompts.

Monday, November 9th: It was such a relief.

Tuesday, November 10th: The book fell open to a well worn page.

Wednesday, November 11th: It was demanding (Veteran’s Day)

Thursday, November 12th: My job was done.

Friday, November 13th: Let me know when you have finished.

Aren’t they lovely? Now, forget all about them until they arrive on the day they need to find their stories. You may have noticed that on the 11th, I marked Veteran’s day. I will be taking off that day. I won’t be writing, as I will be elsewhere. There is still the prompt there for those writing. I will leave a reminder before I go. Also there will still be a Nano writing posted as it is every day this month. For now, have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend beyond.
