Good morning everyone. I hope your week got off to a good start. We are still in writing mode (and will be until the end of May if you are just tuning in.). I hope you are doing well with your personal writing schedule. My schedule will be switching up for May. But I will get to that in my personal post. Today we are still in April and working on our descriptions.
Task #81 – Writing Exercise – Pick a shop in your town. (it can be a village where the only shop is the bakery, it can be a big city with a multitude, it can be an industrial facility, just suit the shop or the concept of shop to your story). Describe it. Look at not only what the shop sells but the variety on offer, the quality. Use the impression of this shop to help describe the prosperity of the town, or the lack of prosperity. Was this shop once thriving but because of a change in the town’s economics is now struggling? Did it once have shelves stocked with a multitude of items but now due to shortages elsewhere, there are empty shelves? Is it prospering even though nothing else is? Is it prospering because the town is now becoming richer due to some other factor? Not only describe this shop, but use its description as a microcosm for the area, town, or city where it is placed.
As always, happy writing.
