The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge: My Task #42

Morning all. I hope you are doing well this morning. As I might have mentioned the one hour i have to write on this project is in the evening so this morning I am posting the section I wrote last night. But to avoid confusion I will just call it today’s writing. If that makes sense.

Also when I sit down to write, I generally start by reading over the previous day’s writing, tweaking it slightly and then I set the timer when I reach the last sentence of the previous day’s writing and start the fresh writing. I find it not only helps me clean up a few sentences along the way, but it gets me back into the mindset of the story. It will still be a very rough draft by the end of this first writing but I find it helpful. At the end of yesterday’s writing the wordcount stood at 1955. At the end of today’s writing the wordcount stands at 4540. So I am chugging right along. I also got on a bit of a roll and went past my hour long time slot. Which I am not mad about.
