The 2026 Novel Writing Challenge: My Task 109

Today I am dealing with emotion. Not just in one scene but as a progression. My character felt one way about a group of family, then they betrayed her and a she was getting over feeling betrayed she uncovers many other lies and issues. She has to move from hurt and somewhat bewildered as to why they would lie to angry to numb and then back to angry and irritated before finally leaving them behind. The emotional path is not straightforward as anger and hurt mingle and even though early on she tells herself it doesn’t matter, it still does until the end where she has to let it go. Today is all about making sure those emotions seem to flow correctly. Won’t that be fun?
